Give It Away

This week we will continue our series called, "Give it Away: A Lesson on Loving Actions," and learn about some friends who helped out even when they didn't get a reward for it.

On board the yellow submarine, we will ask our friends Dexter and Freddy why Trina isn't playing with them. They say she is busy trying to make a block castle for her dolls and she is having a lot of trouble. We ask them why they aren't helping her build her castle and they say that there is no reason for them to help when they don't like playing with dolls. We tell Dexter and Freddy the story of some men who worked together to help a friend who needed them.

Long ago, there was a man who couldn't walk. He was paralyzed. And one day, Jesus was teaching and healing people in a house nearby. The man's friends believed that Jesus could help their friend walk again, so they carried him to the house. When they got there, the house was full of people and there was no way to get through the door to see Jesus. The friends had an idea though! They carried the man up on top of the house, dug a hole in the roof and lowered their friend down to Jesus. When Jesus saw how much the men loved their friend, He healed him! The man picked up the mat he was lying on and started walking!

The story helps Dexter and Freddy to realize that they should help Trina even if they aren't going to play with the doll castle and it shows us that helping people is the right thing to do, even if you don't get the reward. See you this weekend!
