Give It Away
This weekend we are starting a new series called, “Give it Away: A Lesson on Loving Actions,” and we will learn about a young boy who shared his food.
On board the yellow submarine, the Captain gives Dexter the last package of fruit snacks. When Dexter’s sister Trina asks Dexter to share with her, he says that there isn’t enough for two people. We tell Dexter the story of the boy who shared his food.

One day, a crowd of over 5000 people had gathered around Jesus. When it started getting late, Jesus’ friends the disciples told Jesus to send everyone home so that they could eat dinner. Jesus didn’t want to send everyone home, so he asked his friends to see if anyone had brought any food with them. The disciples found a young boy who offered to share his five loaves of bread and two small fish. As Jesus broke up the bread and fish, a miracle happened. There was enough food for everyone and there were even twelve baskets left over after the crowd had eaten. The story shows Dexter the importance of sharing and he decides to share his fruit snacks with his sister.
The memory verse for this series is: “Don’t forget to help others and to share.” Hebrew 13:16. See you this weekend!
