The Holy Spirit

This weekend we will be finishing our series called, “Just Like Me: A Study on the Twelve Disciples.” We will learn that when Jesus left earth and went to heaven, He didn’t leave the disciples alone!

On board our yellow submarine, our friends Dexter, Trina and Freddy tell us about their first clubhouse meeting. They say that it was so fun, but they also learned that their friend Lola was going to be moving to the other side of the ocean. Lola explains that there isn’t a clubhouse on the other side of the ocean, so she won’t be able to be part of a club.

We tell her the story of when Jesus left the earth to live in heaven. Jesus told his disciples before He left that He wanted them to keep teaching people about God, even though He wouldn’t be there to help them. The disciples could have been nervous and scared to do it alone, but Jesus told them that the Holy Spirit would be coming to help them. He told them that they wouldn’t have to do it alone.

Hearing the Bible story helps Lola to realize that she could make her very own clubhouse on the other side of the ocean! Just like the disciples had the Holy Spirit to help them, Lola’s friends tell her that they will help her think of good ideas for her clubhouse and tell her she can call them anytime she needs help.
