The Pharisees

This weekend we are beginning a new series called, "He Has Risen!" We will be learning that Easter isn't just about eggs and bunnies; the real reason for Easter is Jesus! We will learn about the amazing things that Jesus did. He made people better when they were sick, and He told people stories that helped them to know God. But some people didn't like Jesus . They were called Pharisees. They wore fancy robes and liked to speak very loudly! Jesus didn't act like the Pharisees. He showed God's love to everyone, and in return, lots of people loved Jesus. This made the Pharisees very angry and they wanted to hurt Jesus. We will learn that our memory verse, "He is not here, He has risen" is a clue to what happens next in the story and that the story has a happy ending, but we'll have to wait until next weekend to hear about it.
