The Shepherds Visit Jesus
This weekend we will finish our Christmas series with the story of how the shepherd's heard about Jesus' birth. Here's a paraphased version for you:
One night in a city named Bethlehem, a baby was born in a stable. Jesus the son of God had come! Outside the city, in the middle of a field, shepherds were watching over their flocks by night. It was very quiet and peaceful. Suddenly, a great light appeared in the sky. The shepherds looked up and they were very afraid. It was an angel! The angel had good news for those shepherds. “Don’t be afraid! I bring you good news that will give you great joy. Today in Bethlehem, a Savior was born! And this is how you will know he is the special one. You will find a baby lying in a manger! Suddenly a whole group of angels appeared in the sky and began singing praises to God! The shepherds were amazed! They went quickly and found Mary and Joseph and just like the angel told them, Jesus the Savior was lying in a manger. The shepherds returned to the fields praising God for all they had seen and heard that night.
I hope you have a very merry Christmas. I feel blessed and thankful for each and every one of you this holiday season.
